Marketing Mindset & Philosophy

Marketing is a mindset. It’s how we view human connections, share our unique values, and present ourselves to others. When we approach marketing as a mindset rather than just a set of tactics, we unlock something deeper and more meaningful. This space explores those psychological underpinnings, in an authentic sharing of the mindset shifts I attempt to have as I create with the world.

The Digital Rebel’s Manifesto

The trouble with conformity is that it’s rarely the path to success. The most impactful ideas come from those who dare to challenge the status quo and think differently, those who—

  • Cultivate curiosity

  • Embrace experimentation

  • Focus on solving real problems

  • Build diverse networks

  • Stay agile

The Marketer’s Mirror

As marketers, we’re in the business of shaping narratives—but all too often, we neglect to examine the narratives we shape about ourselves. We operate under the assumption that our intentions and actions are always in perfect alignment, that our strategic brilliance is self-evident.

But the truth is, we all have biases and blind spots that color our thinking and influence our decisions, often in ways we’re not even aware of.

By holding up the mirror to ourselves and doing the hard work of self-reflection, we not only become better strategists and more effective leaders, but we also contribute to a larger culture of transparency, empathy, and continuous improvement.

The Problem With Platitudes

I’m aware of the irony of writing a piece about why certain content shouldn’t be created. But sometimes we need to take a pause and ask, “Are we doing it right?”

Five reasons to kill your content:

  1. Arguing just to stir the pot

  2. Lack of subject matter knowledge

  3. Someone else said it better

  4. It doesn't feel right

  5. Lack of reflexivity

Killing an article is about recognizing the flaws in content marketing.

The Power of Heartfelt Urgency

Heartfelt urgency. It’s not a fleeting buzzword or a burnout-inducing mandate. It’s a way of working and living that allows us to show up as our best selves, to create real value for the people we serve, and to find greater meaning and purpose in all that we do.

The road less traveled can be challenging, but if when I stay true to my vision and values and keep pushing forward with heartfelt urgency, I find that the rewards are worth the challenges.
